For the longest time now, I’ve been so focused on finding my true love, and in all the searching I blinded myself from what I really have. I have love….True love, as true as true can be. Through the good times and the bad you have always been there. You’ve never judged me on what I could or…
I don’t think people really understand that gaming is a way of life. I’ve heard too many times someone being told that they’re wasting time or throwing their life away because they’re playing video games. You wouldn’t say that to someone if you saw them reading a book would you? It’s a double standard that I think is way too easily over looked. Both books and video games come purely from imagination, where their are no boundaries and anything you dream of is possible. Just like books, people play video games for fun, to relax, or just to escape. When playing a video game or reading, you form a bond with the characters in the book or game, you begin to love, care, and worry about them. You even grow to hate some and think of how the person you resent within the story should be dealt with by the characters you’ve formed a bond with. Yes, we know they’re fictional inanimate figments of someones imagination, and we don’t care, because to people like me, they’re much more than that. They are friends, lovers, heroes, and even villains, and when the time comes where that story ends, when don’t have to worry about losing any of them, because we can always reread or start the game over for the same thrill. So before you label someone as “weird” or “antisocial” or anything like that, just remember that more than likely its a choice. With books a video games, you know the outcomes after one time through. You dont have to worry about losing the bonds you’ve formed, or the uncertainty of anything, because they never change, they never leave, and they never die. So if you’re one of the people who thinks its sad and pathetic that people use books and video games to escape from reality, just think about how sad and pathetic the worlds reality might be that people need to escape from it.
